Girls Winter Club Season

2024-2025 Girls Winter Club Season 

TRYOUT INFORMATION 

The tryout fee for the 2024-2025 Winter Club Season is $40 plus Sports Engine processing fees (non-refundable). Fee includes tryout and 2 pre-tryout open gym sessions. You must be preregistered to try out. We DO NOT take walk-ins at tryouts. 

12's Division - Sunday, Oct 27th - 9:00 am-10:30 am
The 12s will check in at 8:30 am, and tryouts will be from 9:00-10:30 am in the Eden Prairie Activity Center Lobby Area.  (Note uniform and apparel try on will be from 8:30-9:00 am)

*When picking up your player -please do not come into the activity center as the next group will be checking in

14's Division - Sunday, Oct 27th - 10:30am-12pm

The 14s will check in at 10:00 am, and tryouts will be from 10:30-12:00 pm in the Eden Prairie Activity Center Lobby Area.  (Note uniform and apparel try on will be from 10:00-10:30 am)

*Tryouts are closed to parents. 

Pre Try Out's Open Gym -  5th-8th Grade

Pre-try out open gyms are offered to those players who have REGISTERED for EPVA Winter Club! These are optional, FREE, and no signup required. If your player is registered for Winter Club Season, they can simply show up.  Pre-Try Out Open Gyms are a GREAT way to help girls prepare for tryouts on Oct 27th. All Open Gyms will be run by EPVA Coaches and will go through tryout drills.

Winter Club Info Meeting

Who: All players and parents for athletes that are selected to participate in the 204-2025 EPVA winter club. 

What: Winter club info meeting 

When: November 11th 7:45 pm - 8:15 pm

Info will be available via email after the meeting for those that can't attend. Meeting will review the season structure, tourney schedule and other important info.

The above is a general practice schedule and it should be noted that practice schedules are subject to change based on gym space availability.

If space is available to EPVA starting at 6:00 pm, we will move practices forward 30 minutes. As of now we are not able to rent court space prior to 6:30 pm.

Program Details

The JO season is EPVA’s competitive, travel program.  The EPVA club teams will be members and participants of the North Country Region of USA Volleyball (www.ncrusav.org) and/or the Junior Volleyball Association (JVA).
  
EPVA's JO Program is offered to girls/families that live/work in Eden Prairie or attend Eden Prairie Schools.  Players and teams are designated by age group and are intended for girls in grades 5th through 8th.  The season starts with tryouts in October/early November.  Teams begin practicing in November with competitive leagues and tournament play starting in January and continuing through mid to late April. 
  
All teams are assigned paid, experienced coaches who are under the overall direction of Club Director Steph Chapek (Eden Prairie High School Co-Head Volleyball Coach).  The program is aligned with Eden Prairie High School’s volleyball program.
 
Registration is open. Players will be accepted into the EPVA winter program following tryouts. Final team assignments will be made after 1-3 practices. This ensures the staff places each player on a team that best allows the individual athlete and team to be successful.  Note that NO refunds will be provided after tryouts.

Grades listed for general guidance.  Placement into age category is based on USAV guidelines (USAV Age Definitions)
 
Final practice schedules for teams will be announced after tryouts when players are assigned to teams within their age level. 
  
Program Costs: 
JO Player Fees cover a 7-8 month-long season and include coaches salaries, practice facilities, league and tournament team fees, uniforms, equipment, insurance and administration.  Player fees do not cover individual and family travel expenses to out-of-town tournaments (transportation, hotels, meals, etc.) and USAV/NCR membership fees.  
  
Financial Agreement:
EPVA requires parents and players to sign a Parent and Player Financial Agreement. This agreement includes information on fees and financial policies related to Club participation. Total club dues for the year will be assessed based on team placement. The initial down payment is due with registration. The Parent and Player Financial Agreement is required to be signed and on file before the Player’s first team practice of the season. Parents are urged to carefully read the entire financial agreement and bring items of concern to the Club Director or a member of the Club Board as soon as practicable. Club fees reflect the actual operating costs of the Club and are assessed as equitably and reasonably as possible. As a nonprofit organization, we are committed to financial transparency and accountability.
 
Payment Schedule:
- Registration fee due at the time of registration (all of which applies to total fees for the program).

Remaining balance will be divided into five (5) equal payments due and payable approximately every month following season start.

Below is range of Player Fees per Age Level.  Fees within an age level vary depending on the number of tournaments scheduled for each team.  Exact fees per team will be communicated when teams are formed.

*Any participant that registers and attends tryouts but does not make the club will have all of their registration fee refunded. 
*Players who earn a spot in the program but then choose to not participate are still responsible for the full season player fees.
