WHAT

EP Beach focuses on learning the game of 2 on 2 sand volleyball through instruction, partner/small group drills and game play while having fun and enjoying the outdoors! Athletes will see improvement in their overall volleyball skills (passing, serving, setting, defense and hitting) and will see improved court awareness, movement, game IQ and physical conditioning.

WHERE:
Lake Riley 9180 Riley Lake Rd, Eden Prairie, MN 55347

Updated courts with more shade and benches.

WHAT TO BRING/WEAR:
Bring water. There is a water fountain, but it is strongly recommended to bring a water bottle.

Bring/wear sunscreen. Courts are not directly shaded, but there is shade near the court.

Sand Socks (option herehere) or regular socks (they will probably get ruined). The sand can get HOT after 1030 am.

Beach Volleyball (AVP Official or Mikasa or replica here). Players are not required to bring a volleyball, but if you have one, it's nice to have.

Players should wear a shirt/tank top and pants/shorts (no swimsuits).

OTHER INFO:

Courts are divided by skill level and gender for the most part for practices.

Net will be set to co-ed height, 2s sand rules will be taught and applied.

Practice or tourney will be canceled if extreme weather conditions (heat, thunderstorm, heavy rain). Parents and players can always choose to skip practice or sit out anytime the are not comfortable with the weather.

We do our best to make a decision 1 hour prior to the start of practice/tourney. If weather takes a turn for the worse or we misjudge the severity, we will shelter in the park pavilion.

Lake Riley has a public beach that is staffed with city life guards. Many players go to the beach after practice or tourney to cool off.  Coaches are NOT responsible for players that leave the court area before, during or after practice.

Eden Prairie Volleyball Association continues to offer a fun and valuable Beach Volleyball program.  It is available to all players who live in Eden Prairie or attend Eden Prairie Schools. Non-Eden Prairie players are also encouraged to register.  Playing beach volleyball has huge benefits that pay off on the court during the regular season.
You may register with a partner or as an individual.  Even if you register with a partner, there are some events where you may be paired with other players.  The Club Director will help singles find partners for events.
The season will run June -July. Practice and tourneys will be played at Lake Riley in Eden Prairie.
