Coach Estella

Hi everyone I’m coach Estella. I grew up in Eden Prairie and I played volleyball here from elementary school up until senior year. I’ve been playing for 15 years and coaching for 2 years. After high school, I played one year of DIII volleyball at UMN, Morris. After college, I played two years on an adult travel team in Montelimar, France. Currently, I play in various leagues around the cities. Over the years, I’ve played every position besides middle front. My flexibility as a player has allowed me to effectively coach kids at all different positions and with a variety of skills. Like Coach Brady, I think a player’s mindset can be their greatest asset. I believe a positive attitude, self-talk, and effort are key to the game. I think it is also important to focus on passing, setting, ball control, communication, aggressiveness, and hustle. I have a soft spot for defense as well, after playing libero and DS for a few years. As for coaching experience, I have been an assistant and head coach for boys and girls. Most recently, I coached the EP Boys Prep League and the 15s Girls Club Team. I am looking forward to being able to help players improve their play this summer

Coach Brady

My name is Coach Brady. I grew up in a small town in Wisconsin near Milwaukee, WI. I have been involved with the sport of volleyball in one capacity or another for the last 15-20 years, including playing in various leagues for 10+ years. I have past experience as both an Assistant Coach for multiple teams, along with my most recent Head Coach experience. This experience includes both boys and girls of high school age 12-18 in both Eden Prairie and Shakopee, including 3 years of experience as a high school coach. I currently work in the mental health field, and have a strong belief that psychology as a field of study can be brought to bear with great impact to volleyball teams, especially at younger levels. Psychology concepts can help facilitate social team-building, improved communication, and increased self-help techniques to address team mindset and overall resilience. I am super excited to work with young athletes, and I love to focus on teamwork concepts like grit, determination, and confidence. I feel some of the skills I strive to improve most are in the areas of court awareness, teaching rotations, effort, passing, serving, and setting. One of my favorite quotes: “Whether you think you can, or can NOT, you’re right” (attributed to Henry Ford).
