Renee started playing volleyball for Duluth East High School back in the 90's. Her senior year
she received honors for All Tournament Team at the Duluth East Invitational, was voted to the
Lake Superior All Conference Team, and was voted Most Inspirational by her teammates. She
was recognized for overall school records in the following categories: Ace Tips,
Digs/Passes/Serve Receive and Ace Serves. After high school, she played volleyball at
Concordia College in Moorhead, MN for 2 years and then decided to help with the men's club
team for her remaining 2 years.
Following college, Renee moved to the Twin Cities and met her husband Aaron playing
volleyball. ;) Before having kids, Renee coached the 13-1's team for Wayzata and the 9A team
at Minnetonka High School. After her kids were born, she decided to take some time off from
coaching to play volleyball herself and to get her kids involved in the sport.
She now has 17 year old fraternal twin daughters and a 13 year old son who all play
competitively. Since getting back into the coaching circuit again, Renee has been an assistant
coach at the 14U, 16U and 17U levels for girls club volleyball, a co-coach for the MN Select 14-1 boys team,
and one of the coaches for the Eden Prairie High School boys program.
When she is not coaching or cheering her kids on, she still plays in various coed and women's
leagues and tournaments. She also enjoyed playing at the USAV Adult Nationals when they
were here in Minneapolis in 2017.
